Clinical Psychologist

Clinical Psychologist Deliah Cassidy completed her Masters in Psychology (Hons) at Murdoch University. She has extensive experience in providing individual therapy for adolescents and young adults suffering from depression and anxiety, as well as antenatal and postnatal issues including depression, anxiety, fertility issues, pregnancy loss, grief, and trauma counselling after a complicated birth.

Since graduating in 2011, Deliah has worked as a Clinical Psychologist in St John of God Hospital's Raphael Clinic, the Department of Child protection, and other leading WA medical centres.

Deliah has a special interest in helping people affected by perinatal issues.

She also enjoys working with adolescents to help them overcome anxieties and reach their full potential in a challenging and often tumultuous time of their lives. The debilitating symptoms of depression can have a major impact on the well-being of young people – particularly in the lead up to exams and academic assessments. In the same context, they will often retreat from social activities and struggle to find finding positive interactions. Many young people can benefit from professional support as they navigate their way to adulthood, maturing on a rollercoaster ride of hormones and emotions.

Deliah is able to draw on her experience with a variety of therapeutic interventions including the Circle of Security Parenting Program (COS-P), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and Mindfulness.

Her areas of expertise include:

  • Anxiety, stress
  • Adolescent social-emotional difficulties
  • Depression
  • Grief and Loss
  • Mindfulness
  • Perinatal issues
  • Schema Therapy
  • LGBTIQA+
