Dr Julia Brown is a Clinical Psychologist with a BSc (Hons) and a Masters of Clinical Psychology from the University of Western Australia. Her PhD explored the role of suicidal rumination in the motivation for suicide.
Julia has worked with individuals and families in private settings as well as inpatient and outpatient settings, and government sectors, with clients of all ages. She aims to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space, where she can support individuals in the journey of discovery and growth. Her approach to therapy is individualised, collaborative and self-empowering.
Julia draws from ongoing training in a variety of evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Deep Brain Re-orientating (DBR) as well as other somatic modalities.
Julia is particularly interested in working with adolescents, adults and older adults in the treatment areas of:

- Relationships
- Managing challenging family dynamics

In addition to her qualifications as a Psychologist, Julia holds a BCom and spent more than a decade working in legal and finance areas. She has also been teaching yoga for more than 15 years.
